Independent Due Diligence

Maein Centre provides Independent Due Diligence services to support donors and funding institutions in verifying organizations and prospective partners and understanding the risks associated with them, helping establish more secure partnerships and enabling informed, evidence-based decisions.

The due diligence process begins with collecting and reviewing essential information and documents relating to the organization, verifying its identity, legal status, registration, and associated entities and parties, and reviewing information relevant to its operations and activities.

The service also includes screening to identify potential risk indicators, including connections to sanctions and relevant watchlists, politically exposed persons (PEPs), adverse media and other relevant information, as well as country and geographic risks.

Verification and screening findings are analyzed using a risk-based approach to determine risk levels, identify their sources, and explain the rationale for their classification. The analysis also highlights areas that may require further verification or follow-up.

Where necessary, the review may be expanded through Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), proportionate to the nature and level of risk, to gain a deeper understanding of matters requiring closer scrutiny.

Due diligence findings are presented in structured, documented outputs covering key verification and screening results, identified risk indicators, assessed risk levels and their rationale, and relevant observations and recommendations. These outputs support donors and funding institutions in reviewing partnerships, making decisions, and determining appropriate mitigation and follow-up measures.
