Governance Expert

The Governance Expert contributes to MAEIN's vision of empowering local organizations and enhancing their independence by developing good governance systems and ensuring their alignment with international standards and local practices. The expert works to build the capacity of partner organizations through technical consultations, institutional assessments, and the preparation of improvement plans that contribute to sustainable impact and enhance donor and community confidence.


Main responsibilities

  • Leading institutional assessment processes in the governance axis using MAEIN's methodology to assess and develop the organizational capacities of local MOAD organizations.
  • Reviewing board structures, decision-making mechanisms, transparency, and internal control.
  • Providing practical recommendations to enhance compliance with international governance standards while taking into account the local context.
  • Design and implement training workshops to enhance organizations' capacity to implement good governance.
  • Contribute to the preparation of evaluation reports and institutional capacity building plans for partners.
  • Supporting localization efforts by establishing the principles of integrity, accountability, and independence.


Qualifications and requirements:
  • University degree in public administration, policy, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • At least 5 years of experience in corporate governance, particularly in humanitarian or development contexts.
  • In-depth knowledge of standards and reference frameworks (CHS, OECD DAC, Charitable Governance Code).
  • Practical experience in institutional evaluation and professional reporting.
  • Strong training and consulting skills.
  • Proficiency in Arabic and English.
